ABOUT MOUNT ZION BAPTIST CHURCH

"And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation." II Corinthians 5:18

The "Connecting Cross" is the emblem of the Mount Zion Baptist Church. It represents the ministry of reconciliation given to the Church by our Lord Jesus Christ. It is through the symbol of the cross that we understand that God loved us so much that He was willing to pay the penalty for our sin through the suffering, death, and resurrection of His only Son, Jesus. The "Open Bible" (The Word of God), is the foundation of this truth, and is at the heart of all that we attempt to do and teach. This emblem is a visual representation of our connection with God and our responsibility to connect the world with Him.

From the scriptures, II Corinthians 5:17-19, we derive our motto which summarizes our purpose, mission, and vision:

MOTTO:

"Connecting Lost Souls and Living Saints with a Loving Savior ...through the CROSS"

Abbreviated: "Making Connections that Count...through the CROSS"
